General Membership Meetings
Membership Meetings of the Elgin Turners are held on the third Monday of every month at 8:00 PM.
Just a reminder that the monthly Membership Meetings, held on the third Monday of every month, are for immediate Turner members only. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

New Members: Membership Cards can be picked up at the Rathskellar one month after dues payment has been made.

Club Policies

Bar Tabs at the club are no longer permitted. All bills must be paid before leaving the premises. Thank you for your cooperation.

Club Room Rules (Revised, April 18, 2005)

It is the duty of each member to properly conduct their selves while in the club rooms. A special request is made to avoid the use of improper language which may eventually hurt the honor of the society.
To keep from willfully destroying or stealing the property of the society.
Any handling of the heating or air conditioning units (thermostat) is forbidden by the general membership.
It is the responsibility of each member to clean the table or area they were using, of all trash.
The bar area (interior) is off limits to anyone except the bartender(s) on duty.
You must be 16 years or older to use the pool table, unless accompanied by a parent.
No minors are allowed to sit at the bar or open the doors to the club. Members should use their key.
No person under the age of 18 will be allowed to purchase or play the pull tabs.

Please send your Newsletter submissions to Tonna Holtz. Email or call the club. Bragging is encouraged! Submit your family’s awards, accomplishments, anniversaries, etc. to Tonna Holtz for publication in the newsletter and/or on the Elgin Turners Website.

Financial Obligations for 2008

Dues for 2008 are $70.00 (subject to change at the December meeting) and payable on January 1, 2008. Dues are considered delinquent if not paid by March 1, 2008. Dues not paid by March 1, 2008 by any member will result in the removal from the membership roster at the March membership meeting. Any member unable to pay on time, may write to and appear before the board. Article 7.5 reads: “It shall be a members duty to keep themselves informed as to whether their dues, assessments and/or coupon books are current and paid.” Please be advised that if you wish to drop your membership from the Turners, it is in your best interest to send a letter of resignation. Should you ever wish to rejoin the Turners in the future, having this letter on file will ensure that your application will be processed with no problems or delays.

Members are required to purchase a total of 5 - $15.00 coupon books in 2008. Please see the bartenders for coupon books or contact Dale Thomas at the club. Note that no coupon books will be mailed.

How To Join The Elgin Turners:

Complete an application card (available at the Club bar).
You must have two Elgin Turner members in good standing sponsor and recommend you by signing your application card.
Upon acceptance into the club, you will be notified to attend a General Membership Meeting to be sworn in and to meet with the Membership Committee for an orientation and tour as you submit your application with dues.
